New Moon in Cancer-June 2022
New Moon June 28, 2022
Interesting that this New Moon lands 6 months to the date after my birthday...Gee, I wonder what that means? I wonder if there is any deeper meanings in this? Mostly likely...but let's explore what this New Moon brings for all of us.
This new moon falls into the sign of Cancer...Cancer, you know, the crabby one? What other attributes shall we attribute to this New Moon? Cancer is also associated with loyalty, caring, sentimentality, sensitivity (sometimes to a fault). Cancer's (crab's) are also intuitive creatures – their proximity to the ground (when out of the water) allows them to sense vibrations in the earth that we can't even begin to imagine. And, being predominantly water creatures, they too have the sense to pick up subtle or infinitesimal changes to their environment.
This New Moon in Cancer presents everyone with opportunities to gain clarity around your inner life,(Taking advantage of the intuitive nature of the crab) and your closest familial relationships (Many crab species live in groups, large groups and Horseshoe crabs create nests). But be wary, if we explore the life of the famous Red Crab of Australia, we will note that the females release their eggs during the waning moon, often dying in the process. This indicates that although this New Moon may indicate a time for intuition and clarity around family relationships, it also shows us that boundaries are very very important...after-all, there's no sense in dying for family, like the crabs do!
And being a New Moon, it means this is the time to create...the crab lives from within it's own shell and thus at this time we may be tempted to go further within ourselves, to retreat...but from the evening of June 28 until our next Full Moon on July 13, we have an opportunity to grow ourselves instead, grow our intuition, grow and improve family relationships...bring the light of the growing moon into all that you do.
One last note that intuition is calling upon me to share is: Now is not the time to start a diet (despite the fact that you're going on summer vacation in 2 weeks and want to look amazing in that new bikini!!!). The New Moon is never a time to try to “remove” something from your life...it is always the time to bring something new and beneficial into your life. Instead of a diet, why not bring a new healthful exercise routine into your life during this time...remember this is a Cancer New Moon and crabs do migrate, often long distances...start a walking routine and as the light of the moon grows, take longer and longer walks. Just a suggestion – avoid the diet roller coaster and instead work with the phase of the moon. After all, she's far more powerful and influential than we are.
