New Moon in Virgo - August 27, 2022

28 years ago today, I got married. The night before my wedding, I cried and cried. I told anyone who would listen that I was making a mistake. But I was told it was just nerves, I was told, the money had been spent, I was told that I'd break his heart...wait! WHAT??? What about my heart? What about my emotions? What about my inner KNOWING that it was a mistake? The wedding went ahead...The divorce was announced 4.5 years later...

So why is that important today, on this New Moon? Well back then, I ignored my inner intuition, I listened to those outside of myself for answers...sure I knew about what back then was referred to as woo-woo, BS and fakery. But because I was without community and support, because I was surrounded by those who weren't truly at part of the community that was open to looking to the unseen for answers, I allowed myself to be led astray.

If I had known about the importance of the moon and her influence on our lives, perhaps things might have been different. In 1994, on August 27, there was a waning moon - not a good time for a wedding...under a waning moon? Nope. And the moon was in Taurus-Taurus is in charge of Neck, larynx, throat, vocal cords, thyroid gland, tonsils, Adam's apple...isn't in interesting that in hindsight, I can see that my wedding under a waning moon, and my utter inability to speak up for myself, was doomed from the start.

So that brings us to today...Now, I sit up, I pay attention to cycles and rhythms...I notice if the moon is waxing or waning - to the point that often I no longer require a calendar or even clear sight to the nighttime sky...I just know. And now that this is part of my work, I feel blessed to share with all of you...

New Moon's are a time for new beginnings, new awakenings, for fresh starts, for manifestations...And this New Moon in Virgo is no different...

Virgo sometimes has the reputation for being too much of a perfectionist yet, why not put that perfectionism to work on your behalf...as you're probably feeling motivated under this New Moon, it's a great time to dust off the old resume and ensure there are no errors or typo's. That report that's due on your bosses desk - again, check and double check for mistakes...Virgo's energy will help with the perfectionist energy.

It's a great time to get organized and complete tasks that have been taking up space on your "to-do" list for far too long...organize and prioritize...Virgo energy is productive energy.

All of this action can leave you feeling overwhelmed but thankfully, Virgo also has an important aspect of self care...so remember to look after yourself...the exhaustion you may experience is more mental than physical, so it's not just about looking after your physical body - it's also about looking after your mental health...this can involve meditation, staring into the starry night sky thinking of little else other than just enjoying the view...perfect mental break!

Physical and Spiritual Rituals - Seeing as Virgo loves to be organized, a great project over the next few days is to organize your Altar, your arts and crafts supplies, your herbs and other magickal supplies, why not hit a dollar store for some small bins and some labels and make your desk or your altar a feng shui oasis, Aaaaaah, now there's a way to have some self care while at the same time, bringing about a sense of accomplishment. (I'm by no means suggesting that you hurry out and study Feng Shui as this discipline takes years to master and implement in a meanful way...but I am suggesting that an organized work area is definitely going to benefit mental health)

What is not a mental break? Netflix, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Insta, etc...this is a form of escapism - but it is not a mental break...This may sound preachy but it requires repetition...allow your mind to turn off - it's OK - we do not require constant stimulation...just sayin'

As the New Moon is a time for manifestation, here are a few suggestions for manifestation spells:

If you would like to manifest money, print off a $1 million bill...under the dark skies of the new moon, infuse the $1 million bill with herbs that are associated with green (aka money) - try mint, it's one of my favourites...rub the bill with mint and make up a rhyme to repeat calling in financial abundance to you...leave the $1 million dollar bill on your altar or in a prominent place in your home so you'll see it often...each time between the New Moon and the Full Moon, acknowledge your desire, put some positive emotions towards it - Remember however that, overwhelming "want" is unattractive not only to the opposite sex but also to the Universe when manifesting...so ensure that the emotions you attach to this manifestation are NOT emotions of desperation.

If you are looking to "clean up" your Love Life - whether that means finding new love or rescuing an existing relationship...

We are under a Virgo New Moon...Remember Virgo, loves to organize right...

Each area of your home has a meaning and is associated with a different aspect of your life...

Stand at your front door facing inwards...the farthest corner of your home from where you're standing and off to your right, is the area of relationships...What's there? Is it clean? Is it clear? Is it organized? If this are is cluttered, than it energetically can interfere with your love life making it complicated.

Clean up and tidy up this area with firm intention of what you wish to manifest...get rid of the old worn items if you're feeling like your relationship is tired. Clear up clutter - it's messing with a direct line of communication in your relationship - it's complicating things.

Once you've tidied up...place some meaningful items in this area - pink items are often representative of love, but old items can indicate old energies or old patterns.

Once the area is as you wish it to be, light a candle to bring light into the area. Sit for a few moments in the candle light as you clearly envision the relationship you wish to manifest. (Remember, never leave the candle unattended)

In love and light

Happy Manifesting!
