Super Moon, July 13, 2022
Tonight we celebrate under a Super Buck Moon. Why is it called the Buck Moon and what does this moon hold in store for us energetically?
The full moon in July is called the Buck Moon because this is the time of the year when the antlers on bucks (male deer) are at their fullest. This year just happens to be a Super Moon in addition to the Buck Moon. According to those who follow animal tarot or animal spirituality, when a buck or deer appears in our life, it’s a calling to higher education. The antlers represent antenna that reach upwards and outwards, towards picking up additional information and channeling it down into our consciousness - the same way old TV antenna picked up signals for us and directed those signals to our TV’s for interpretation. The lesson here is, just as a TV must be compatible with the signal being received from the antenna, so too must we be attuned to the information that is now available to us for download.
We know that in life, the initial vision for a project or manifestation, seldom turns out identical to our initial vision. Maybe we envisioned a new blue car, but when we finally had the money, only a pink car was available. Pink may be an unusual and very rare colour for a car, yet pink is your favourite colour. So in the end, your manifestation, your vision changed, adapted and in fact, turned out better. That’s what this moon is all about…fine tuning your vision!
Being that this is a full moon, it is also the time to release that which no longer serves us…which means, now is the perfect time to adjust or fine tune your manifestation and release the aspects of the initial vision that no longer serve your end goal. Sometimes, we get very attached to an initial manifestation goal and we fail to see that if we release certain attachments to the initial vision, it could be better…as in the above example of the pink car.
So tonight, on this Full Super Buck Moon, take some time to reflect on your vision, take time to fine tune and bring clarity. Finally take time to release that which isn’t serving your vision.
That releasing process can have many iterations but here are some suggestions;
Write that which you wish to release on a piece of paper and throw it into a bonfire tonight
Find a flat stone, wash it and dry it. Grab a washable marker and write that which you choose to release upon the stone or rock…then, with full intention, toss the rock into a lake or river. Because you wrote in washable marker, the words will wash away as the light of the moon also fades.
Use toilet paper for this one; it quickly biodegrades helping your spell. Write that which you want to release on a piece of toilet paper…you can either bury the piece of paper under some soil, allowing Mother Earth to take away the intentions…or you can swirl the piece of written on toilet paper in a bucket until the paper is in tiny little pieces. You can then dispose this water into a sewer drain, turning your back immediately and NOT looking back as you walk away.
As a suggestion, you can also use the toilet paper spell during a new moon, writing your intentions that you wish to grow on the paper. After swirling the paper in the bucket, use the water to water your plants and watch your intentions grow.
No matter how to choose to celebrate tonight’s moon, be sure to step outside and bask in the beauty of this Super Moon
