Superficial Persona vs. Genuine Promotion - the real Marnie stepping up!
per·so·na /ˌpərˈsōnə/
noun
noun: persona; plural noun: personae; plural noun: personas
the aspect of someone's character that is presented to or perceived by others.
As I launch into 2020, and direct my life to an on-line career path (vs. in person readings and sessions), I am hit with the realization that there is an expectation from many, for me to develop a “persona” for the web-page, a “persona” for Facebook, a “persona” for a YouTube channel, a “persona” for Instagram, and the list goes on.
After much thought, consideration, meditation and hard consultation with myself, I must decline the current social norm…I am unable to develop or portray a persona of perfect hair/make-up, a perfect life or the perfect emotional balance…I will not PhotoShop my pictures before I post them, I will not ensure my make up and hair are “just so” before I present myself to the world on a video, I will not keep my political views solely to myself, and I certainly won’t clean up my (at times) potty mouth.
If I am to properly serve the highest good, the highest interest of my clients then I must be open and honest with them at all times. How can I expect my clients to come to me with open minds, hearts and energies, if what I return to them is only a persona of who I am???
This is me - I am Marnie , and I am making a promise to all of my clients - you will get what you see - I am genuine, I am not perfect, but everyday, I work a little bit harder at being a good, decent human being.
